Every Togglebox customer now gets premium monitoring at no cost for services hosted with us. HTTP and HTTPS checks with content verification, SSL certificate expiration warnings, ping, and TCP port checks, with email and SMS alerts when something fails. Check intervals go down to one minute.
There is no separate tool to install or pay for. Monitoring lives in the client area you already use.
Setting up your first monitor
From the cloud management section of the client area, click Manage Monitoring, or open Services and choose Monitoring from the sidebar. Creating a monitor takes under a minute: name it, point it at a URL or host, and set how often it should check. HTTP monitors can also verify that the response contains text you expect, which catches the broken page that still returns a 200, and can watch the SSL certificate on the same URL for upcoming expiration.
Once saved, the monitor starts checking on its own and shows up on the monitoring dashboard with its current state, check interval, and last result.
What is free and what costs extra
All four check types, email and SMS alerts, and per-monitor scheduling are free for anything hosted on Togglebox. Two optional add-ons exist. Proactive Monitoring, at $5 per month per monitor, automatically opens a support ticket with our team when a check fails, so we start looking before you do. External monitors, at $0.50 per month each, point the same checks at services hosted outside Togglebox.
