Private Clouds on Dedicated Hardware

Your own cloud on hardware no one else shares: single-tenant KVM hosts, private VLANs, and custom sizing, operated by Togglebox engineers.

Single-Tenant Compute

Dedicated CPU, RAM, and storage with no hypervisor sharing. Performance stays consistent.

Resilient Storage

3x replication across hosts, erasure coding on larger clusters, or a dedicated iSCSI LUN.

Right-Sized Resources

Specify exact CPU core counts, RAM, and storage tiers for each node.

Managed Operations

Our engineers handle provisioning, monitoring, patching, and incident response for you.

Private Cloud Infrastructure, Designed for You

Togglebox Private Clouds are single-tenant environments on dedicated hardware, orchestrated by your own OpenNebula instance. The hypervisors, storage, networking, and control plane are yours alone, so performance never depends on another tenant. We design the topology with you, deploy it in our US data centers, and operate it alongside your team.

Included with every private cloud

  • KVM hypervisors
  • Private VLANs
  • Dedicated IP blocks
  • Console access
  • Redundant power & carriers
  • 24/7 engineer support

How a Togglebox Private Cloud Is Built

Three decisions shape every private cloud: what the compute looks like, how it scales, and who operates it day to day. We make those decisions with you, then stand behind the result.

Single-tenant hypervisors

Dedicated KVM hosts with NVMe storage carve up cleanly into VMs you control. No other tenants share CPU, memory, or disk I/O, so performance stays predictable under load.

1:1 hardware dedicated to your cloud

Custom architecture

Size CPU, RAM, and storage to the workload. Add hosts for capacity, segment traffic across private VLANs, or bring your own subnet plan. Every cluster is built to the spec you give us, not a fixed SKU.

Engineer-managed

We handle provisioning, monitoring, patching, and incident response. 24/7 chat and ticket support reaches in-house engineers directly. No tier-1 scripts, no escalation maze.

How we support you

Images & templates

Deploy from OS images or ISOs, import .vmdk/.qcow2/.img files, or clone configured VMs as reusable templates.

API & Terraform

Automate provisioning and scaling inside your cloud with the same REST API and Terraform provider used for Cloud VPS.

API reference →

Private networking

VLAN-isolated subnets, managed virtual routers, and site-to-site VPN tunnels keep east-west traffic off the public internet.

Managed firewalls →

Backups & DR

Daily, weekly, and monthly retention per VM, plus optional offsite disaster recovery and DNS failover.

Disaster recovery →

Kernel & OS licensing

Add KernelCare for live kernel patching. cPanel, CloudLinux, DirectAdmin, and Windows licenses available at the VM level.

KernelCare →

US data centers

Clusters live in our own US data centers with redundant power and multiple carriers, not a reseller footprint.

Workloads That Fit a Private Cloud

A private cloud is the right call when isolation, compliance, or predictable cost make a multi-tenant VPS the wrong tool. A few patterns we deploy often:

Regulated workloads

HIPAA, PCI, or contract-driven isolation requirements. Single-tenant hardware, auditable network paths, and documented change control.

Isolated database tiers

Dedicated DB nodes for MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MSSQL where buffer pools and I/O patterns need consistent, measurable performance.

Legacy migrations

Lift-and-shift from on-prem ESXi or aging colo. Import existing VM images, preserve IPs via VPN, cut over on your schedule.

High-density virtualization

Dozens of small VMs sharing one dedicated cluster. Better unit economics than paying per-VM on public cloud at scale.

Dev & staging fleets

Parallel environments that mirror production topology and OS builds, with private-only networking between tiers.

Latency-sensitive apps

Trading, telephony, real-time media, and game servers where noisy-neighbor jitter breaks the product.

Smaller footprint or bursty traffic? Cloud VPS is the right starting point for most single-VM workloads. You can graduate to a private cloud later without re-platforming.

    Common Questions

What is a private cloud at Togglebox?

Your own OpenNebula cloud on single-tenant KVM hosts: dedicated servers, private VLANs, and a control plane no other customer touches. We design the topology with you, deploy it in our US data centers, and operate it day to day.

When should I choose private cloud instead of Cloud VPS?

Choose a private cloud when you need strict isolation, dedicated capacity for many VMs, or network design beyond a single VPS, such as compliance workloads, database tiers, or lift-and-shift migrations. For single-VM and bursty workloads, Cloud VPS is the better starting point, and you can graduate later without re-platforming.

How is storage handled in a private cloud?

Three options, matched to your cluster size and durability needs. Most deployments use storage replicated 3x across three or more hosts, which we recommend. Clusters with five or more hosts can use erasure coding for more usable capacity. We can also provision a dedicated iSCSI LUN for your data, which many customers prefer.

How small can a private cloud be?

There is no fixed SKU. Most deployments start at three hosts, the minimum for our recommended 3x-replicated storage. Tell us about the workload and we will scope the right footprint with you.

How is a private cloud priced?

As a monthly rate for the dedicated hardware, storage, and management we scope together, not per-VM metering. Request a quote and we will send pricing within one business day.

Can you migrate our existing VMs?

Yes. Import .vmdk, .qcow2, or .img images directly from on-prem ESXi or another provider, preserve existing IPs through a site-to-site VPN, and cut over on your schedule. Our engineers work through the migration with you.

How does the design process start?

Share your workload, security, and continuity requirements through the quote form or chat. An engineer maps compute, storage, and networking options to your constraints, then sends a scoped topology, pricing, and a deployment timeline within one business day.
