We finished upgrading our Dallas, Texas datacenter to all-NVMe storage. Every Cloud VPS in Dallas now runs on NVMe drives, and every new VM you create there gets NVMe by default. Nothing to enable, no migration to schedule.
Why NVMe matters
NVMe drives talk to the CPU over PCIe instead of a SATA-era storage bus, so requests spend far less time waiting in line. In practice that means lower latency on every read and write, higher throughput when many operations land at once, and much better handling of parallel workloads.
Some workloads feel the difference more than others. Databases benefit the most, since query speed usually comes down to how fast the disk answers. Busy application servers, CI/CD pipelines, and anything else that hammers the disk with small random operations sit close behind.
What you need to do
Nothing. If your VMs are in Dallas, they are already on NVMe. If you have been holding a storage-heavy workload elsewhere, Dallas is now the place to put it.
